Motorhead, like Iron Maiden, emerged as part of the NWOBHM...however I've always had a hard time lumping them in with other "metal" bands. There is no doubt they are indeed metal...but they are also punk and straight ahead rock. IMO, that's why Motorhead is one of the truly great rock bands..you can't put a definitive label on them. Their music is as good as it gets...fast, furious, fun. Here's the SFW version of Eat the Rich.

Motorhead is the shits. As Lemmy says before kicking off a live set, "We are Motorhead. We play rock and roll."
