Black Sabbath Week Day 2-w/Ray Gillen Danger Zone

Best known as lead singer of Badlands, Ray Gillen had a cup of coffee with Black Sabbath. He replaced the drugged and drunk Glenn Hughes then got booted from the band after he finished vocals on the Eternal Idol. Tony Martin was brought in to replace him and he rerecorded the album's vocals. To this date, Gillen's version has not been officially released. Gilledn died of AIDS in the mid 90s.

The Ray Gillen Eternal Idol demos have popped up a couple of times on Dime A Dozen but I've always missed grabbing them. I do however have the Born Again demos with one unreleased tune.

Born Again is on tap for tomorrow. I'm torn as to what to throw on. YouTube has some live footage of the Ian Gillan lineup including a Sabbath version of Smoke on the Water. Vocally, I thought Ian Gillan worked just fine....I think Born Again ranks in the top half of Sabbath's output and when the mood hits me right, I rank it as among their best.

I had the Ray Gillen Eternal Idol and then my hard drive crashed before I could burn it. Have been trying to land it off Soulseek but have had little success. I thought Ray Gillen had an incredible voice for rock/metal...despite appearing in Cats.
